SUMMARY:National Sculpture Society - Fellows Online Exhibition 2018
DESCRIPTION:The National Sculpture Society (NSS) presenting the Fellows Online Invitational featuring the work of 42 NSS Fellows. \nTim Cherry is exhibiting “Big Gulp” \nThe Fellows Online Invitational includes major public monuments; private commissions; works from museum and corporate collections; and limited-edition sculptures. Materials include traditional bronze\, carved wood and marble\, paper and terracotta. The variety of styles and subject matter reflect the diverse thinking and ingenuity of NSS Fellows. \nNSS Fellows are nominated by a majority vote of the Board and the affirmative vote of two-thirds of the Fellows and Directors voting at a General Meeting. Criteria for consideration of election to membership as a Fellow include: professional development in the field of Sculpture\, participation in the Sculpture Community\, educational contributions to Sculpture\, and participation in the National Sculpture Society. \nEach sculptor has provided a link to their individual websites so that viewers may see more of their artwork.  The Fellows Online Invitational is a way of experiencing artwork created by some of America’s finest sculptors. \nRobin R. Salmon\, Vice President for Collections and Curator of Sculpture at Brookgreen Gardens\, Pawleys Island\, South Carolina\, served as curator. In addition to her curatorial position\, Ms. Salmon is the author of three books on the historic gardens:  American Masters: Sculpture from Brookgreen Gardens; Brookgreen Gardens; and Sculpture of Brookgreen Gardens. \nNational Sculpture Society was founded in New York City in 1893 by a group of America’s most prominent sculptors. Its members have created much of this country’s public sculpture\, coins\, and medals since the late 1800s.  It is the oldest organization of professional sculptors in the United States and has been hosting exhibitions for over a century. Fellows (FNSS)\, Elected Members (NSS)\, and Associates comprise the levels of membership of the organization which is international in scope and appeal.  National Sculpture Society is a not-for-profit organization which supports excellence in sculpture through various educational programs including scholarships and grants for emerging artists.

DESCRIPTION:Tim will be exhibition several works. \nEach year the Sculpture at the River Market Show and Sale draws in visitors from all over the country. There are special events throughout the weekend to attract people over to see the beautiful sculptures. But at the same time\, they do all they can to bring in all types and anybody who would want to come. From a semi-formal Friday night reception to a more casual sculpture party for the younger crowd\, to the FREE admission to the show on Saturday and Sunday…this organisation goes “above and beyond” to make sure everybody can enjoy the arts and specifically these amazing sculptures.
