With “Otter Knot,” I wanted to explore the tear drop shape horizontally as an artistic element. The otter is holding its catch over the top of its tail which creates a teardrop shape and continues into a pleasing figure eight design. This design combination causes the viewer’s eye to travel over the sculpture again and again, much like a Celtic knot.
