Molding Stag Leap – Painting the Rubber February 21, 2010 The parts, legs, antlers, ears and tail are set up in order to start the 5 coats of rubber that will be applied over the next 6 days. The rubber layer will capture the details of the original sculpture. Tim and Dave played, “name that tune,” to save their sanity or determine the loss of it over the coarse of the 6 days. Over 1500 songs were played and Dave is definitely considered the winner by a long shot. Way to go Dave!! It takes Tim and Dave 6 days (over 80 hours) and 15 gallons of rubber to coat 5 layers of rubber on all the parts and sections of Stag Leap.
